About The Position

This role is for a Certified Surgical Tech in the Operating Room at Ascension St. John Broken Arrow. The schedule is PRN day shift, Mondays through Fridays only, from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, with varying days. The position involves preparing surgical suites, providing instruments and supplies to the surgical team, positioning and draping patients, and monitoring instrument counts.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date OR Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical suites with sterile drapes, solutions, and instrumentation.
• Provide surgeons with necessary instruments and supplies during operations.
• Position and drape patients, prioritizing their safety and dignity.
• Monitor and track instrument counts and organization throughout surgery.
