About The Position

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. Prepares operating suites with the necessary drapes, solutions, and specialized instrumentation; supports the surgical team during procedures by anticipating needs and providing instruments and supplies; assists with transporting, positioning, and draping patients before surgery; and organizes surgical tools and performs instrument counts to maintain accuracy and clinical standards.

Requirements

• Hold a Licensed Compact State Registered Nurse credential from the Tennessee Board of Nursing before the hire date or job transfer date.
• Obtain Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months (180 days) of the hire date or job transfer date, or obtain BLS Provider certification within 1 month (30 days) of the hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross certifications are accepted.
• Have a diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or the required professional licensure at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating suites with the necessary drapes, solutions, and specialized instrumentation for each procedure.
• Anticipate the surgical team’s needs and provide the correct instruments and supplies during active surgery.
• Assist with transporting, positioning, and draping patients before surgery.
• Organize surgical tools and perform meticulous instrument counts throughout the operative process.
