CERTIFIED SURGICAL TECH (Days/Nights)
About The Position
Qualified candidate will function under the direct supervision of an RN and assist in Nursing care and preparation of the surgical patient by performing routine & delegated duties according to the standards and policies of the hospital and department. Candidate will perform technical duties relating to scrub personnel, including precise & efficient reaction to all situations & assist with departmental work as assigned. Surgical techs have a vital role in creating and maintaining a sterile surgical environment and ensure that surgical equipment is functioning properly & safely as well as assisting surgeons during surgical procedures.
Requirements
- Completion of a Certified Surgical Tech program preferred or current New York State LPN license eligible
- Approved pharmacology course or previous medication experience and successful achievement in medications exam.
- Knowledge in the use of cleaning/sterilization/disinfections of equipment and instrumentation utilized in the clinical operating room setting.
- BLS required.
- Continuing education requirements of 15 CEU's per year.
