About The Position

Texas Health is hiring a Certified Sterile Processing Tech II at Texas Health Dallas. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week position works nights from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. in a diverse, fast-paced, high-volume department. The role performs instrument processing tasks, including scanning and tracking trays, assembling and containing instruments, decontaminating instruments, testing and documenting equipment operation, and loading sterilization equipment according to the applicable method.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One of the following certifications is required upon hire: CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician), CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution), or CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician).

Nice To Haves

• Sterile Processing experience, or new graduates with related clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Scan instrument trays to identify their location and create count sheets and labels.
• Assemble instrument trays using proper techniques.
• Wrap or contain instruments and trays.
• Scan instrument trays to track their location using the instrument tracking system.
• Decontaminate instruments according to policy and procedure, including manual cleaning and use of automated cleaners.
• Perform tests and document results as directed to ensure proper operation of washers and emergency eyewash and shower equipment.
• Load instruments using the proper technique for the sterilization method.
