About The Position

The Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) supports adult females in a rural outpatient substance use disorder (SUD) treatment program in Madras, Jefferson County, Oregon. Recovery Mentors are part of the SUD Treatment Team and work with clients seeking to engage in recovery or in its early stages. Many clients participate in intensive outpatient or Day Treatment; others may be awaiting a residential treatment bed or transitioning from residential treatment to Day Treatment. Recovery Mentors are not counselors or clinicians, but provide support that clinical staff may not be able to offer. Working with a Supervisor, the Recovery Mentor helps design and implement education, referral, and parent components of the program, and helps facilitate classes, support groups, and group activities. The role includes recovery coaching, client outreach and transportation when approved, case management and referrals, support for clients in residential treatment or detox, and documentation of client contact. The mentor maintains a personal recovery program, if applicable, and models recovery-appropriate behavior.
