The Peer Mentor I works directly with young adults enrolled in the Transitions program, helping them develop academic, career, and life skills that support greater independence. Peer Mentors serve as positive role models by providing guidance, encouragement, and support as students navigate new experiences and pursue personal goals. The role includes attending classes with students, helping them build positive relationships, supporting community activities, and encouraging responsible decision-making. Transitions, a program of The Arc Lexington, serves high school graduates and young adults with autism spectrum disorders and other learning disabilities. Through hands-on experiences, personalized support, and community involvement, the program helps students build the confidence and skills to pursue their goals. Campuses are located in Mayfield, Cobleskill, and Albany.
