Recovery Mentor

BestCare Treatment Services•Bend, OR

About The Position

Recovery Mentors are a critical part of the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment Team, supporting clients who are engaging in recovery or are in the early stages of recovery. Most assigned clients participate in intensive outpatient or Day Treatment services; others may be waiting for residential treatment or transitioning from residential treatment into Day Treatment. Recovery Mentors are not counselors or clinicians. They provide forms of support that counselors may not be able to offer and work with their Supervisor to design and implement education, referral, and parent components of the program. They help facilitate classes, support groups, and group activities. Recovery Mentors maintain a personal recovery program, if applicable, and model recovery-appropriate behavior. The position provides recovery coaching and practical support through client contact, transportation when approved, community activities, referrals, and coordination with treatment staff. It also involves documenting client contacts and participation in the agency’s electronic health record and related forms.
