Certified Pharmacy Technician - Outpatient/Retail Pharmacy - St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital
About The Position
Put your pharmacy skills to use in a different environment! The ideal candidate will use their excellent customer service skills to serve both hospital discharge patients (meds to beds) and loyal regulars. It's retail pharmacy...with a twist. Current business hours are M-F, 8:30am-5pm (closed for lunch), Saturdays 10am-4pm (weekend rotation), and closed on major holidays. This is a rewarding opportunity with a great team, offering 32 hours/week. Requirements
- High School Degree or GED
- Valid ExCPT Certification provided by the National Health Career Association or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and registration with State Board of Pharmacy (required)
- Ability to be proactive in a rapidly changing environment
- Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner
- Possesses problem-solving skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Requires knowledge of pharmacy terminology, medication names, and aseptic technique
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working in Retail, Ambulatory, Outpatient, Hospital, Acute Care, or Home Infusion Pharmacy (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Receiving and verifying the accuracy and authenticity of prescriptions
- Reviewing and recording patient information with their prescription in compliance with the guidelines of the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Providing instructions to educate people on the correct way to take their medicine
- Supporting the Pharmacist in the daily operation of the pharmacy
- Protecting employees and patients by adhering to infection-control protocols and policies
- Other duties as assigned
