About The Position

Assist the pharmacist with pharmaceutical preparation, distribution, and record-keeping functions for pharmaceutical supplies. Perform a variety of technical pharmacy services in the Department, designated satellites, and service and patient care areas. The role is located at The Valley Hospital in Paramus and is per diem on the day shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess or be eligible for pharmacy technician registration.
• Pharmacy technician certification required.
• Ability to perform work accurately and with attention to detail within specified time periods.
• Ability to work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff.
• Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
• Ability to set priorities and solve problems.
• Ability to respond quickly to emergency requests.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• College courses preferred.
• Two to three years of pharmacy technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in pharmaceutical preparation and distribution.
• Maintain records related to pharmaceutical supplies.
• Perform technical pharmacy services in the Department, designated satellites, and service and patient care areas.
• Assist in meeting pharmaceutical care needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
