About The Position

Prepares sterile and non-sterile medications for distribution under pharmacist supervision and manages medication distributive processes, equipment, and systems across the hospital. Performs activities in sterile compounding areas that do not require a pharmacist’s professional judgment. Acts as the primary contact for and provides direction to sterile compounding room activities, completes assigned operational tasks, and directs and participates in the supervision and training of other pharmacy staff working in the sterile compounding room. Must follow standard written procedures and guidelines strictly.

Requirements

One year of experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital environment.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and basic mathematics.
Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician by the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
One year of pharmacy sterile compounding experience is preferred.
