About The Position

Prepares sterile and non-sterile medications for distribution under pharmacist supervision and manages medication distributive processes, equipment, and systems across the hospital. Performs activities in sterile compounding areas that do not require a pharmacist’s professional judgment. Serves as the primary contact for sterile compounding room activities, provides direction, and completes assigned operational tasks. Provides direction and participates in supervising and training pharmacy staff working in the sterile compounding room. Must follow standard written procedures and guidelines strictly.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital environment.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and basic mathematics.
Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician by the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
One year of pharmacy sterile compounding experience is preferred.
