About The Position

With the expansion of LCDF services as a newly designated Certified Behavioral Health Community Center, we are creating a Mobile Crisis Response Team. This position will be responsible for providing peer support services to members with behavioral health issues, psychiatric disorders, drug and/or alcohol dependence, and physical illnesses. The peer worker will act as a consumer advocate, provide information and support for consumers, and assist consumers in their recovery process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Certification as a certified peer specialist in the state of New Mexico.
  • Maintain a clean driving record.
  • Submit to LCDF required background check, TB screen and drug testing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide peer support services to members with behavioral health issues, psychiatric disorders, drug and/or alcohol dependence, and physical illnesses.
  • Act as a consumer advocate.
  • Provide information and support for consumers.
  • Assist consumers in their recovery process.
  • Effectively use Electronic Health Records.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Work effectively within an interdisciplinary team and communicate effectively with others.
  • Adopt a culturally sensitive and non-stigmatizing approach.
  • Multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure without losing sight of objectives.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Be familiar with all personnel and company program policies and procedures.
