The Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) assists clients in articulating personal recovery goals, determining reasonable and holistic steps toward recovery, and identifying barriers to those goals. The PRS helps individuals recognize personal strengths in daily living and recovery skills, and teaches problem-solving, strategies to identify and combat negative self-talk, ways to build social supports, and self-advocacy. As directed by the clinical team, the PRS intervenes, coordinates, and connects clients to care. The role also completes screens, assessments, and evidence-based protocols as trained and supported by Centerstone. The position requires lived experience receiving mental health, substance use, or gambling treatment; a minimum of one year of recovery; and PRS certification. Candidates who are not already certified must become certified within 90 days unless otherwise approved by the hiring manager. A valid driver's license and proof of insurance are required.
