About The Position
The Patient Care Technician assists patients with activities of daily living and performs selective procedures delegated and communicated by the licensed nurse. These activities focus on maintaining a safe, hazard-free, clean environment that facilitates patient-focused care. The role is with Covenant Medical Center, part of Providence, whose culture emphasizes patient-focused, whole-person care, understanding, commitment, mutual respect, and empowering caregivers.
Requirements
- Combined equivalent experience and certification for the function and level, or current graduation from a state-approved PCT program (CPCT).
- Upon hire, National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Upon hire, one of the following certifications: National Certified Patient Care Technician from the National Association for Health Professionals; National Certified Patient Care Technician from the National Center for Competency Testing; or National Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant from the National Healthcareer Association.
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 6 months of PCT experience in an acute care setting.
- 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
