Surgical Services - Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)
About The Position
The Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech works in Surgical Services at a short-term acute care hospital. This is a block-schedule position with an expected 1:1 ratio. The position does not float between units. On-call coverage is required, averaging one day per week and one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) in each six-week schedule. Weekend work is on-call only. The role requires at least 2–3 years of operating-room experience and confidence working in orthopedics (including total joints, spine, and trauma), urology, GYN, uro-GYN, vascular, general surgery, neuro spine, and some ENT. Da-Vinci XI robot experience is required. The facility has 108 staff beds and uses Epic for charting. Scrubs are provided for the OR, Critical Care, ED, PACU, and Maternal Child; the role’s scrub color is not specified beyond the facility’s general policy that RN/allied staff may wear any color.
Requirements
- NBSTSA certification as an OR Tech.
- At least 2–3 years of operating-room experience.
- Confidence in orthopedics, including total joints, spine, and trauma; urology; GYN; uro-GYN; vascular; general surgery; neuro spine; and some ENT.
- Da-Vinci XI robot experience.
- Participate in required on-call coverage, averaging one day per week and one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) in each six-week schedule.
