About The Position

Adoration Home Health is seeking a dedicated Home Health Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide patient-centered care in the Bluefield, West Virginia coverage area. The position supports patients in their homes and offers one-to-one care, flexible scheduling, and the ability to work independently with team support. The COTA assists the Occupational Therapist with rehabilitation activities, trains patients and others involved in their rehabilitation, and documents and reports patient progress and status changes.

Requirements

• Degree from a certified occupational therapy assistant training program.
• Current Occupational Therapist Assistant certification.
• Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and neuro-rehabilitation techniques.
• At least 2 years of clinical experience assisting in the assessment and management of traumatic brain injury or related neurological conditions.
• Current CPR certification.
• Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and orthopedic rehabilitation technique.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing vocational and educational activities designed to restore and reinforce task performance and promote health and self-sufficiency.
• Conduct community reintegration activities to address individuals’ occupational therapy needs during physical activity.
• Train individuals and others involved in their rehabilitation, and document the results of training.
• Support individuals’ plans of treatment by documenting and reporting status changes to the rehabilitation specialist, clinical coordinator, attending physician, and other treatment team members as appropriate.
