About The Position

Adoration Home Health is seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide patient-centered care in the home health setting in Bluefield, West Virginia. The position serves the Bluefield coverage area and is part-time. COTAs provide one-to-one care, work independently with team support, and have flexible scheduling options.

The COTA assists the Occupational Therapist with therapeutic activities, community reintegration, rehabilitation training, and monitoring and reporting patient status. Adoration Health, an affiliate of BrightSpring Health Services, provides compassionate services in patients’ homes and supports patients, families, and caregivers.

Requirements

• Degree from a certified occupational therapy assistant training program.
• Current Occupational Therapist Assistant certification.
• Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and neuro-rehabilitation techniques.
• At least 2 years of clinical experience assisting in the assessment and management of traumatic brain injury or related neurological conditions.
• Current CPR certification.
• Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and orthopedic rehabilitation technique.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing vocational and educational activities designed to restore and reinforce individuals’ task performance and promote health and self-sufficiency.
• Conduct community reintegration activities to address individuals’ occupational therapy needs during physical activity.
• Train individuals and others involved in their rehabilitation, and document training results.
• Support individuals’ treatment plans by documenting and reporting status changes to the rehabilitation specialist, clinical coordinator, attending physician, and other treatment team members as appropriate.
