About The Position
Adoration Home Health is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to provide patient-centered home health care in Ashland, Alabama, serving Clay, Cleburne, Randolph, and Tallapoosa counties. The role provides one-to-one care in patients’ homes and offers flexible scheduling, independent work with team support, and less time on one’s feet than in some other care settings. The position is listed as PRN. The COTA assists an Occupational Therapist with therapeutic activities that support patients’ task performance, health, and self-sufficiency. The role also involves community reintegration activities, training patients and others involved in rehabilitation, and documenting and communicating treatment progress and status changes to the care team. Adoration Health, an affiliate of BrightSpring Health Services, provides services in the home and supports patients, families, and caregivers. Requirements
- Degree from a certified occupational therapy assistant training program.
- Current Occupational Therapist Assistant certification.
- Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and neuro-rehabilitation techniques.
- At least 2 years of clinical experience assisting in the assessment and management of traumatic brain injury or related neurological conditions.
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and orthopedic rehabilitation technique.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing vocational and educational activities designed to restore and reinforce individuals’ task performance and promote health and self-sufficiency.
- Conduct community reintegration activities to address individuals’ occupational therapy needs during physical activity.
- Train individuals and others involved in their rehabilitation, and document training results.
- Support individuals’ treatment plans by documenting and reporting status changes to the rehabilitation specialist, clinical coordinator, attending physician, and other treatment team members as appropriate.
