About The Position
Adventist Health Columbia Gorge is a 49-bed hospital and regional health system serving The Dalles and the Columbia River Gorge community. The Certified Nursing Assistant provides personal nursing care to patients under the direction of a licensed registered nurse (RN). The role supports patients’ activities of daily living and self-care needs, performs routine assigned tasks, and reports patient status and concerns to the RN. The position is in Surgical Short Stay and is listed as full-time, day shift. Associates must receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply. Adventist Health participates in E-Verify.
Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy is required.
Nice To Haves
- High school education, GED, or equivalent is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including nutrition and hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning devices, restraints, and restorative care.
- Take vital signs, including pulse and blood pressure.
- Help patients with basic needs such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Perform clerical duties, including routing patient reports as appropriate.
- Use organizational and prioritization skills to help keep the unit running smoothly and meet deadlines.
- Provide assessment data to a certified nurse within the scope of practice, including vital signs and patients’ verbal and nonverbal responses.
- Report patients’ status and concerns to the RN.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
