About The Position
Adventist Health Columbia Gorge is a community healthcare organization in The Dalles, Oregon, comprising a 49-bed hospital, medical offices, home health, a birthing center, and other services. The Certified Nursing Assistant provides personal nursing care under the direction of a licensed registered nurse (RN), performs activities-of-daily-living tasks and other assigned duties, and reports patient status and concerns to the RN. This is a full-time, day-shift position in Surgical Short Stay. The organization requires associates to receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply. Adventist Health participates in E-Verify.
Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy is required.
- High school education, GED, or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Provide personal nursing care under the direction of a licensed registered nurse.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including nutrition and hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning devices, restraints, and restorative care.
- Take vital signs, including pulse and blood pressure.
- Help patients with basic needs such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Perform clerical duties, including routing patient reports as appropriate.
- Use organizational and prioritization skills to keep the unit running smoothly and meet deadlines.
- Provide assessment data within the scope of practice, including vital signs and patient verbal and nonverbal responses.
- Report patient status and concerns to the RN.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
