About The Position
The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients, and helps maintain a safe environment. The role works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. The position is in the Coronary Care Unit at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine, and is full-time on the day shift with a 12-hour schedule.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- State-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained as current.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- Current phlebotomy certification upon hire.
- Current EKG certification upon hire.
- At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office.
Responsibilities
