About The Position

Rutherford Regional, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support patient care in the ICU. The role contributes to the hospital’s mission of making communities healthier by providing basic patient care delegated by an RN, assisting with daily living activities, monitoring and reporting patient findings, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and supporting department operations. The schedule is full-time nights, consisting of three 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends.

Rutherford Regional Hospital is a 143-bed acute care hospital serving Rutherford County and surrounding communities in southern Western North Carolina. Team members have opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute alongside healthcare professionals.

Requirements

• High school degree preferred.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possible blood glucose measurements, and accurate intake/output recording.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, and ambulation.
• Observe and promptly report abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-stocked patient rooms and common areas.
• Manage the tech desk and support nursing and physician staff and overall department throughput.
• Document care and activities according to unit standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Participate in performance improvement and required education.
