About The Position

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) works in the Intensive Care Unit at Georgetown Community Hospital and, under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities. The role is part of a collaborative, patient-centered ICU team caring for critically ill patients. The posting also lists anesthesia-related duties, including assessments and care planning, administering and managing anesthesia under the direction of a CRNA or anesthesiologist, monitoring vital signs during surgical procedures, assisting with airway management, and providing post-anesthesia care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State Registered Nursing Assistant (SRNA) certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Handle with Care certification required within 30 days of hire and annually.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care activities under the supervision of an RN.
• Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and assist in developing patient-specific anesthesia care plans under supervision.
• Administer and manage general, regional, or local anesthesia under the direction of a CRNA or anesthesiologist.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes during surgical procedures.
• Assist with airway management, including intubation and ventilation support.
• Provide post-anesthesia care, including patient monitoring, pain management, and documentation.
