About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) delivers direct care to residents and patients in a skilled nursing home in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and life care standards. CNAs assist residents with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, and mobility while prioritizing their well-being and helping them maintain dignity and independence. The role also includes supporting residents’ personal needs, safety, and comfort; assisting with daily tasks and dining; providing companionship; and observing and reporting changes in residents’ condition.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant certification course.
Ability to read and communicate at an adequate level to perform essential job duties.
Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect.
Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner.
Caregivers must complete the employer’s new-hire orientation.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living, including wardrobe, personal hygiene, and mobility.
Help residents with daily tasks such as using the telephone, laundry, transportation, and mail delivery.
Perform light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation.
Provide medication reminders.
Observe and report changes in residents’ condition and status.
Conduct rounds to monitor for hazards or incidents.
Assist with dining, including escorting residents to the dining room, serving, and clean-up.
Provide companionship and conversation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
