About The Position

Certified Nursing Assistants at Masonicare at Greenridge Place assist residents with activities of daily living and personal care to maximize independence, freedom of choice, and quality of life. The official title for this role is “Residential Care Assistant.” The position is in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, and is for 24 hours per week on day and evening shifts.

Requirements

CNA certification is required.
No experience is required.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with essential activities of daily living and personal care according to their age, needs, and abilities, including bathing, dressing, ambulating, toileting, meals and nourishment, personal hygiene, transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices, and care of ADL devices such as eyeglasses and hearing aids.
Assist residents with instrumental activities of daily living according to their age, needs, and abilities, including telephone calls, light housekeeping, laundry, escorting, coordinating internal transportation, and mail delivery and correspondence.
Assist residents with self-administration of medications through cueing only.
Observe and report changes in residents’ physical condition and cognitive or emotional status to the ALSA Supervisor or Director of Assisted Living Services as needed.
Conduct resident room checks and rounds, monitor environmental safety hazards, record incidents, errors, and accidents, and document resident-related events.
Assist with dining tasks, including escorting residents, setup and cleanup, and serving meals.
Participate in and support the resident-centered activity program, and complete required written documentation about resident care and activities during the shift.
Act as a resident advocate at all times.
Follow agency confidentiality policies.
Communicate tactfully and diplomatically in sensitive or emotionally charged situations, and follow up with appropriate staff, residents, or others about complaints, problems, and concerns.
Act as an ambassador to guests and other off-campus visitors.
Maintain certifications required for employment.
Perform other duties as required.
