The Certified Nursing Assistant locates and triages patients, obtains vital signs, assesses patient conditions, and prepares patients for examinations and treatment. The role supports Physicians and Nurses with patient care, lab work, phlebotomy, instrument sterilization, supplies, room restocking, and operation of medical and office equipment. It also involves maintaining treatment-area cleanliness, completing biological cleanup and laundry tasks, and completing assigned checklists and Policy Manager tasks during the shift. The CNA follows established policies and ancillary guidelines, communicates patient information and needs to Nurses and Physicians, attends scheduled staff meetings, and reports to the Charge Nurse before leaving at the end of the shift. The position requires a professional, friendly approach and teamwork. Breaks and mealtimes may be interrupted when needed for patient care or center operations, and the CNA may be asked to work at any center during staffing or center emergencies or reductions in work.
