About The Position

Wisteria Place is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct resident care and assistance with daily living activities while promoting comfort, dignity, independence, and quality of life. The CNA is expected to deliver patient-centered care and build meaningful connections with residents and their families. Requirements

• Hold a valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from an accredited program.
• Have experience working with patient populations such as geriatric or pediatric patients, or individuals with disabilities.
• Know medical terminology, vital-sign measurement, and basic life support (BLS).
• Be familiar with EMR/EHR systems, such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks, for documentation.
• Be able to lift safely and follow safe lifting practices during transfers and mobility assistance.
• Have strong communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams and caregivers.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), or home and community care settings is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Measure and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
• Support safe patient transfers using Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques.
• Document care activities in electronic health records while following HIPAA requirements and protecting patient confidentiality.
• Observe and promptly report changes in patient condition to nursing staff or healthcare providers, including in critical-care or emergency situations.
• Provide emotional support and compassionate communication to patients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other cognitive impairments.
• Assist with catheter care or medication administration under supervision when qualified.
