About The Position

Wisteria Place is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct resident care and assistance with daily living activities while promoting comfort, dignity, independence, and quality of life. The CNA will support residents and their families through attentive, respectful care and help create a positive environment where residents feel valued. The role includes documenting care, monitoring and reporting changes in residents’ conditions, and assisting with procedures under supervision when qualified. Requirements

• Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from an accredited program.
• Experience working with varied patient populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics, or individuals with disabilities.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, vital-sign measurement, and basic life support (BLS).
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for documentation.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and follow safe lifting practices during patient transfers or mobility assistance.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with healthcare teams and caregivers.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), or home and community care settings is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility, to promote independence and comfort.
• Measure and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
• Support safe patient transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques.
• Document patient care activities in electronic health records while adhering to HIPAA guidelines and protecting patient confidentiality.
• Observe and promptly report changes in patient condition to nursing staff or healthcare providers, including in critical care or emergency situations.
• Provide emotional support and compassionate communication tailored to patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive impairments.
• Assist with procedures such as catheter care or medication administration under supervision when qualified.
