About The Position

All Ways Caring HomeCare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide simple or uncomplicated patient care and help meet patients’ personal needs and comfort. The CNA assists nurses with basic care activities and works with clients in care settings that may include home health, hospice, residential, and private duty. Duties include personal care, taking and recording vital signs, and helping patients with mobility and daily activities. The role requires certification as a Nurse Assistant, and responsibilities must remain within the standards of practice associated with that certification.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record, as defined by agency policy.
Certification as a CNA or Home Health Care Aide if required by state licensure in the state where care is provided.
Completion of a recognized home care aide training program or six months of recent experience as an aide.
Ability to use proper body mechanics while lifting; may be expected to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for periods of time, and to bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach.

Responsibilities

Assist nurses with basic care activities related to patients’ personal needs and comfort.
Dress, groom, bathe, and feed patients.
Take and record patients’ vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respiration rate.
Answer call lights and assist with toileting, oral care, nail care, and catheter care.
Assist patients in wheelchairs, transport them, and turn bedridden patients.
Report changes in patients’ conditions.
Clean patient rooms and change bed linen.
Give medication as directed by a physician or nurse and note the amount and time given.
Take out trash.
Perform other duties as assigned.
