About The Position

North Alabama Specialty Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama, is hiring a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant to provide care in a Long-Term Acute Care setting, including LTAC, ICU, and CC. Day and night shifts are available, with 12-hour shifts. Hospital experience is required. The Certified Nursing Assistant works under the direction of an RN or LPN, providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards. The role serves high-acuity patients recovering from complex medical conditions and requires the ability to work with people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, organize and prioritize multiple tasks, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment. Requirements

Prior hospital experience is required.
A high school diploma, GED, or CNA certification is required.
BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Provide basic nursing care within the Certified Nursing Assistant’s scope of practice, addressing patients’ psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and physical needs.
Perform basic patient care responsibilities while considering care standards specific to the patient’s age.
Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Explain care to patients and families before providing it, and answer questions within the scope of practice.
Remain flexible and organized and function effectively in stressful situations.
Respond to patients in emergency or physically distressful situations.
Ensure documentation meets current standards and policies.
Use resources appropriately and take accountability for their utilization.
Perform other duties as assigned within the Certified Nursing Assistant’s scope of practice.
