CNA Certified Nursing Assistant Full Time Hospital Experience Required
About The Position
North Alabama Specialty Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama is hiring a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant for its Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) setting, including ICU and critical care. The role serves medically complex, high-acuity patients recovering from complex medical conditions. Day or night shifts are available, with 12-hour shifts. Hospital experience is required. The Certified Nursing Assistant works under the direction of an RN or LPN, providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards. Care should address patients’ psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and physical needs, including needs specific to the patient’s age and applicable standards of care. The role requires organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks, adapting to a rapidly changing environment, and working with people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Requirements
- Prior hospital experience is required.
- A high school diploma, GED, or CNA certification is required.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to work with people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Ability to organize, set priorities, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic nursing care within the Certified Nursing Assistant’s scope of practice, addressing patients’ psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and physical needs.
- Perform basic patient care responsibilities while considering needs specific to the patient’s age and standard of care.
- Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge.
- Explain care to patients and families before providing it and answer questions within the scope of practice.
- Remain flexible and organized and function in stressful situations.
- Respond to patients in emergency or physically distressful situations.
- Complete documentation in accordance with current standards and policies.
- Use resources appropriately and assume accountability for their utilization.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the Certified Nursing Assistant’s scope of practice.
