Free CNA Training Class
About The Position
North Park offers a free Nurse Aide Training Program for people interested in becoming Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). No previous experience is required; participants need a commitment to providing compassionate care to residents. The program includes free classroom instruction and hands-on clinical training and can be completed in two weeks, with 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of clinical training. Participants are supported by ASC instructors, nurses, and CNAs. After completing the program and testing, participants may apply for a position at one of American Senior Communities’ Indiana locations. The CNA role supports residents with personal care, mealtime assistance, mobility and transfers, vital signs and observations, call-light requests, and companionship. Further nursing-career pathways are available, including tuition and certification reimbursement, college and university partnerships, paid training, and career development.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, tooth brushing, and shaving.
- Help residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
- Reposition and transfer residents between beds, wheelchairs, and toilets.
- Obtain and record resident vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure, and other observations.
- Answer resident call lights and assist with requests.
- Build meaningful relationships with residents by providing care and companionship.
