About The Position

Warwick Forest Lifelong Health and Rehab is hiring Certified Nursing Assistants for all shifts in Newport News, Virginia. The CNA performs tasks essential to the direct care of residents according to facility policies and procedures. The role works under the supervision of the Nursing Manager, Supervisor, RN, and LPN, and is ultimately responsible to the Director and Assistant Director of Nursing, as applicable. The hiring range is $18.90–$24.60 per hour; actual pay is determined by job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs. New part-time and full-time hires are eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) certification from the Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) upon hire.
• CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute within 30 days.

Nice To Haves

• One year of prior Nurse Aide work experience.

Responsibilities

• Allow residents to make choices within the limits of their capabilities while considering safety and dignity, and follow facility policies and procedures, including those related to resident privacy and dignity.
• Assist with meeting residents’ hygiene, appearance, safety, and nutritional needs.
• Provide resident care and services to maintain or improve functional status to the highest practical ability.
• Accurately document residents’ activities of daily living care, personal hygiene, bowel and bladder habits, and behaviors in the EMR.
• Follow universal precautions and proper infection control, sanitation, and safety standards of practice in all work and activities.
