About The Position
Lourdes Noreen-McKeen Residence is a faith-based, nonprofit short-term rehabilitation and skilled geriatric care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm. The facility has served the community since 1960 and describes itself as a home for its residents. The Certified Nursing Assistant assists nursing personnel in providing residents with basic care and completing necessary unit tasks. This is a brief overview of responsibilities and is not intended to be all-inclusive. Positions are available across all shifts on a full-time, part-time, or per-diem basis. Pay is $15.50–$17.75 per hour, based on experience and shift.
Requirements
- Current and valid Florida CNA certification.
- One year of CNA experience, including at least six months in long-term care.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
Responsibilities
- Assist nursing personnel in providing basic resident care and completing necessary unit tasks.
- Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, skin care, toileting, grooming, oral hygiene, and dressing or undressing.
- Assist residents with meals and ensure dietary orders are followed, including use of assistive devices.
- Assist with turning, positioning, and transferring residents.
- Perform basic restorative skills, including range-of-motion exercises and splint management.
- Use medical equipment appropriately and safely, including canes, crutches, walkers, Hoyer lifts, side rails, braces, splints, and oxygen.
- Maintain knowledge of residents’ orthopedic precautions, medical limitations, and cognitive deficits or impairments.
