About The Position

RUSH Specialty Hospital, a partnership between Select Medical and RUSH, is a 100-bed facility that combines a critical illness recovery hospital and an acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital. The inpatient rehabilitation hospital provides compassionate care for individuals facing brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The Certified Nursing Assistant supports patient care by obtaining vital signs and other data, assisting with personal and daily care, delivering meals and helping patients eat, safely turning and positioning immobile patients, responding to call lights, and transporting patients to treatment areas. The position is full-time, working 12-hour night shifts in Chicago, Illinois. Compensation is $20.51–$25.00 per hour based on years of experience, with additional differentials for night and weekend shifts.

Requirements

Hold an active CNA license in the state.
Have certified BLS or complete BLS certification within the first 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Hospital experience.

Responsibilities

Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and demographic data.
Assist patients with personal and daily care, including bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, and hair care.
Deliver meals and snacks; feed patients who cannot feed themselves and document oral intake, including supplements.
Safely turn and position immobile patients while maintaining proper body alignment, and participate in the mobility program.
Answer patient call lights and perform services that contribute to patients’ physical well-being.
Transport patients to designated areas, including to and from treatment centers.
