About The Position
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), under the direction and supervision of a professional nurse, performs duties that assist the nursing staff in meeting patient treatment and care requirements. All duties are carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures. This is a full-time position working 11:00 PM–7:30 AM, with rotating weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Communicate effectively in written and verbal English.
- Hold Certified Nursing Assistant certification, or have completed one semester of clinical work in an RN program in place of CNA certification.
- Hold BLS/CPR certification.
- Be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Nice To Haves
- EMR/EPIC experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care as assigned by the registered nurse.
- Perform routine procedures such as blood glucose monitoring, taking vital signs, and measuring heights and weights.
- Assist patients with activity and help provide a safe environment.
- Observe patients while performing delegated tasks and report changes in their condition.
- Promote patient comfort and keep patient rooms clean and orderly.
- Provide skin care and apply knowledge of care needed to maintain or improve skin integrity.
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, morgue transport, and discharges.
- Replenish patient supplies as needed.
- Identify patient and family education needs and report them to the registered nurse.
