About The Position

Provides assigned residents with routine daily nursing care in accordance with nursing care procedures and as directed by a supervisor. The position preserves residents’ dignity and rights, provides good customer service, communicates appropriately, and follows federal and state compliance regulations. The role assists residents with daily living needs, maintains room hygiene, supports meals, takes and reports vital signs and changes in condition, follows infection-prevention measures, documents care, checks safety precautions and equipment, and helps prevent skin problems through timely incontinence care and repositioning. The position rotates weekends and holidays.

Requirements

Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with Florida law.
One year of long-term care experience or experience working with handicapped or developmentally disabled adults.
Current CPR certification.
Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

Responsibilities

Comply with applicable employment rules, policies, standards, and guidelines.
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring, ambulating, and toileting.
Make beds, remove trash, and maintain a high level of hygiene in residents’ rooms.
Ensure meals are served on time and assist residents with meals and feeding as needed.
Take vital signs and report observations and changes in condition to the nurse.
Practice infection prevention and control measures in compliance with federal, state, and facility requirements.
Promptly and accurately document care in the CNA ECS flow-sheet.
Make routine, frequent rounds to confirm safety precautions and equipment are in place and working.
Help prevent skin problems or breakdown by providing timely incontinence care and frequently repositioning residents who need assistance.
