About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant performs direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel, helping promote a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment in accordance with facility policies and procedures. The CNA provides activities of daily living within the scope of practice and each resident’s plan of care, assists residents with mobility and positioning, records assigned information, and responds to resident needs. The role also supports resident rights and choices, maintains housekeeping standards, and may help orient and train other staff.

Requirements

• Current, active Nursing Assistant certification from the state in which the facility operates.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a nursing team and under the direction of licensed nursing staff.
• Customer-service orientation and ability to work well under pressure.
• Approachable, flexible, and adaptable to change.
• Ability to function independently, with flexibility, personal integrity, and effectiveness working with stakeholders and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel.
• Help promote a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Provide activities of daily living within the scope of practice and the resident’s plan of care.
• Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in resident rooms.
• Ambulate and transfer residents using appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.
• Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other assigned information.
• Routinely turn and position residents as necessary.
• Recognize and support resident rights and choices within the care environment.
• Maintain established housekeeping standards in assigned duty areas.
• Promptly answer call lights and assist with resident needs.
• Assist with orientation and training of other staff as requested.
• Complete other assigned special projects and duties.
