About The Position

Hendricks Community Hospital Association is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Long Term Care unit, working overnights. This position offers the opportunity to begin a healthcare career with no prior experience necessary, as the hospital provides CNA classes at no cost. The role involves providing the highest quality care for long-term care residents, focusing on their physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being. The hospital is an independent facility located in a friendly small-town setting.

Requirements

Successful completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program.
Genuine interest in geriatrics.
Ability to provide quality resident care following each individual care plan.
Ability to adhere to team concept and work together with co-workers for the benefit of the residents and the facility.
Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures pertaining to long-term care facility.
Ability to practice infection control procedures.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain emotional stability under stressful conditions.
Flexibility to handle changing situations and emergency needs.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Job involves moderate to heavy physical work.
Frequent standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting weight in excess of 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a healthcare facility preferred but willing to train.

Responsibilities

Providing residents with assistance as needed with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, mobility, and any other aspect of ADL’s (activities of daily living).
Attending to residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being according to each resident’s need.
Communicating and relating in a positive manner with residents and responding appropriately to resident behaviors.
Adhering to the team concept and working collaboratively with co-workers for the benefit of residents and the facility.
Knowing and applying safety and emergency procedures pertaining to a long-term care facility.
Practicing infection control procedures.
Exercising independent judgment and maintaining emotional stability under stressful conditions.
Handling changing situations and emergency needs with flexibility.
Maintaining strict confidentiality.
