About The Position

Hendricks Community Hospital Association is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Long Term Care unit, working overnights. This position offers the opportunity to begin a healthcare career with no prior experience necessary, as the hospital provides CNA classes at no cost. The role involves providing the highest quality care for long-term care residents, focusing on their physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being. The hospital is an independent facility located in a friendly small-town setting.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program.
  • Genuine interest in geriatrics.
  • Ability to provide quality resident care following each individual care plan.
  • Ability to adhere to team concept and work together with co-workers for the benefit of the residents and the facility.
  • Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures pertaining to long-term care facility.
  • Ability to practice infection control procedures.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain emotional stability under stressful conditions.
  • Flexibility to handle changing situations and emergency needs.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Job involves moderate to heavy physical work.
  • Frequent standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting weight in excess of 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a healthcare facility preferred but willing to train.

Responsibilities

  • Providing residents with assistance as needed with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, mobility, and any other aspect of ADL’s (activities of daily living).
  • Attending to residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being according to each resident’s need.
  • Communicating and relating in a positive manner with residents and responding appropriately to resident behaviors.
  • Adhering to the team concept and working collaboratively with co-workers for the benefit of residents and the facility.
  • Knowing and applying safety and emergency procedures pertaining to a long-term care facility.
  • Practicing infection control procedures.
  • Exercising independent judgment and maintaining emotional stability under stressful conditions.
  • Handling changing situations and emergency needs with flexibility.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality.
