About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs tasks essential to the direct care of residents in accordance with nursing home facility policies and procedures. The role works under the supervision of the Nursing Manager, Supervisor, RN, or LPN, and is ultimately responsible to the Director and Assistant Director of Nursing, as applicable. The position is part-time and works evenings in Gloucester, Virginia.

Requirements

• Virginia Department of Health Professions Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) certification upon hire.
• CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute within 30 days.
• First Aid certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute within 30 days.

Nice To Haves

• Less than one year of prior Nurse Aide work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respect resident choices within the limits of their capabilities while considering safety and dignity, and follow facility policies and procedures, including those concerning resident privacy and dignity.
• Assist in meeting residents’ hygiene, appearance, safety, and nutritional needs.
• Provide resident care and services to maintain or improve functional status to the highest practical ability.
• Accurately document residents’ ADL care, personal hygiene, bowel and bladder habits, and behaviors in the EMR.
• Follow universal precautions and proper infection control, sanitation, and safety standards of practice in all work and activities.
