About The Position

Hermitage Care & Rehabilitation Center is a 92-bed skilled nursing facility in Owensboro, Kentucky, specializing in short-term rehabilitation and long-term nursing care. The Certified Nursing Assistant performs direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel and helps promote a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment in accordance with facility policies and procedures. Care is provided within the scope of state regulations and each resident’s plan of care. The role offers 8-hour shifts.

Requirements

• Current, active Nursing Assistant certification from the state in which the facility operates.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a nursing team and under the direction of licensed nursing staff.
• Customer-service orientation and ability to work well under pressure.
• Approachable, flexible, and adaptable to change.
• Ability to function independently, demonstrate personal integrity, and work effectively with stakeholders and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel.
• Promote a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Provide activities of daily living within the scope of practice defined by state regulation and the resident’s plan of care.
• Change bed linen and regularly maintain appropriate grooming supplies in residents’ rooms.
• Ambulate and transfer residents using appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.
• Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other assigned information.
• Routinely turn and position residents as necessary.
• Recognize and support resident rights and choices within the care environment.
• Maintain established housekeeping standards within assigned duty areas.
• Promptly answer call lights and assist with resident needs.
• Assist with orientation and training of other staff as requested.
• Complete other special projects and duties as assigned.
