About The Position
Springs Valley Meadows offers free training through the ASC Nurse Aide Training Program for people interested in becoming Certified Nursing Assistants. No previous experience is required; participants must be committed to providing compassionate care to residents. The program includes classroom instruction and hands-on clinical training over two weeks, followed by testing. Individuals completing the program may apply for a CNA position at one of American Senior Communities’ Indiana locations. The posting seeks people who will ultimately work evening shift. Additional pathways are available for those interested in advancing their nursing careers.
Requirements
- No previous experience is required.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care to residents.
- Complete the two-week Nurse Aide training program, including 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training, and complete testing.
- Willingness to ultimately work evening shift.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, tooth brushing, and shaving.
- Help residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
- Reposition and transfer residents, including between beds, wheelchairs, and toilets.
- Obtain and record resident vital signs and observations.
- Answer call lights and assist with residents’ requests.
- Build relationships with residents by providing care and companionship.
