About The Position

Visiting Angels’ Corsicana office is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants to provide compassionate in-home care to seniors and others in need in Ennis and the surrounding local communities. The role offers an opportunity to support clients and their families through companionship and help with everyday activities, including light housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care, mobility assistance, and transportation. Caregivers may also have opportunities for advanced training in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and being a caregiver.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate manner.
Good time management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Background in home care or elderly care.
History of community involvement.
Interest in advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility in and around the home, and outside the home for activities such as doctor’s appointments and walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Do clients’ shopping or accompany them when they shop.
Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
