About The Position

Visiting Angels Tyler is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate in-home care to senior adults and others in need across the East Texas area, including Canton and nearby communities. The role supports clients with daily activities, companionship, light housekeeping, meal preparation, mobility assistance, and transportation. Caregivers may also receive advanced training in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care. Shifts offered include part-time 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts, PRN shifts, short shifts, and day shifts.

Requirements

Two years of previous caregiving experience.
Valid driver’s license; an ID card alone is not sufficient.
A vehicle with current insurance.
Passion for serving others and a genuine caregiving disposition.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate approach.
Good time-management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Provide transportation and one-on-one mobility assistance as needed.
