About The Position

Philip Health Services is hiring a full-time, onsite Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Philip, South Dakota. This entry-level role supports patient comfort, safety, and day-to-day care across rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The CNA assists patients with routine personal care and mobility, observes and documents care, and communicates with patients, families, and the care team. A typical shift begins with receiving report from the outgoing team and reviewing assignments. The CNA prioritizes needs, answers call lights, coordinates with nurses, and helps keep rooms stocked and organized. The role also involves reassuring patients and families, sharing updates, noticing changes in patients’ condition, completing charting, and communicating handoff notes at the end of the shift. Hiring is contingent on successful completion of lawful pre-employment or post-offer checks, including a background check. A conditional offer also requires passing a pre-employment drug test. The company maintains a drug- and alcohol-free workplace and conducts testing in accordance with applicable law.

Responsibilities

Take and record vital signs.
Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support patient mobility and safe transfers.
Follow infection control practices.
Document care and report changes in patients’ condition.
Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team.
Receive shift reports, review assignments, and prioritize patient needs.
Answer call lights and coordinate with nurses.
Help keep patient rooms stocked and organized.
Reassure patients and families and pass along updates.
Complete charting and communicate handoff notes at shift end.
