About The Position

Visiting Angels’ Tyler office is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants to provide compassionate care to senior adults and others in need across the East Texas area. Caregivers support clients at home and in the community, helping with daily activities such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care, mobility, and transportation. The position offers an opportunity to serve local families and to develop caregiving skills through advanced training in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care. Part-time, PRN, and short shifts are offered, including 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour shifts, as well as day shifts.

Requirements

At least 2 years of previous caregiving experience.
Valid driver’s license; an ID card alone is not sufficient.
A vehicle with current insurance.
Passion for serving others and a genuine caregiving disposition.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate manner.
Good time-management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home or outside, including to appointments and on walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Do clients’ shopping or accompany them while they shop.
Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
