Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
About The Position
The Certified Nursing Assistant promotes residents’ dignity, independence, self-determination, privacy, choice, and rights within a skilled and assisted living community. The role provides personal care, assists with activities of daily living and medication reminders, supports residents’ social and spiritual pursuits, and monitors their physical and cognitive wellbeing. The position also supports mealtimes, nutritional supplement intake, and life enrichment programming; documents resident care and intake; and reports changes in residents’ condition to the nurse and supervisor. The posting lists full-time and part-time opportunities at The Village at Victory Lakes in Lindenhurst, Illinois. The stated pay range is $18.00–$24.00 per hour, with a weekend differential of $3.00 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Certified Nursing Certification may be required depending on state regulations.
- Ability to demonstrate patience and compassion when working with elderly people.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of paid or volunteer experience working with seniors is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and medication reminders, in accordance with care plans and community policies and procedures.
- Assist residents with lifting, turning, transferring, positioning, and transporting to and from beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, and other locations or equipment.
- Assist with dining room services at assigned mealtimes, including setup, cleanup, meal tray delivery, feeding assistance, and documentation of meal intake.
- Monitor residents’ physical and cognitive wellbeing and report changes to the nurse and supervisor.
- Deliver nutritional supplements at assigned times, assist residents as needed to ensure intake, and document intake according to community policy and procedure.
- Participate in life enrichment programming and provide meaningful activities to residents.
- Document resident care in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and procedures, including updates.
