About The Position

Collage Home and Community Rehabilitation Partners is seeking experienced Certified Nursing Assistants to provide patient-centered, one-on-one care in patients’ homes and communities in Austin, Texas, and surrounding areas. The organization provides individualized neurological rehabilitation for people with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, CVAs, and other neurological or complex orthopedic diagnoses. Its interdisciplinary teams develop integrated treatment plans and practice functional skills with patients in their homes and communities. This is a PRN position.

Requirements

• At least one year of prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent, experience as a caregiver, CNA, or HHA, or completion of a CNA program.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and perform job-related physical duties.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable daily transportation.
• Ability to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends.
• Willingness to enforce health and safety standards.
• Compassionate and supportive manner.
• Enjoy working one-on-one and be eager to improve and learn new skills.
• Take pride in providing high-quality care.

Nice To Haves

• Hoyer lift experience, specific to the client.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance, including helping clients shower, bathe, dress, and eat.
• Help clients take prescribed medication and assist with ambulation.
• Support mobility at home and in the community, including accompanying clients to appointments and walks.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene, plan and prepare meals, and help with physical therapy exercises.
• Complete clients’ shopping or accompany them while they shop.
• Perform housekeeping duties and report unusual incidents.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Assist patients with meals, including serving food and related tasks as needed.
