About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant promotes residents’ dignity, independence, self-determination, privacy, choice, and rights. The role provides personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, medication reminders, and residents’ social and spiritual pursuits, while monitoring their physical and cognitive wellbeing. The position also supports dining services, nutrition, life enrichment activities, and timely, accurate care documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification may be required depending on state regulations.
• Ability to demonstrate patience and compassion when working with elderly people.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of paid or volunteer experience working with seniors is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and medication reminders in accordance with care plans and community policies and procedures.
• Assist residents with lifting, turning, transferring, positioning, and transportation into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, and other locations or equipment.
• Assist with dining room services, including setup, cleanup, meal tray delivery, feeding assistance, and documentation of meal intake.
• Monitor residents’ physical and cognitive wellbeing and report changes to the nurse and supervisor.
• Deliver nutritional supplements at assigned times, assist residents as needed to ensure intake, and document intake according to community policy and procedure.
• Participate in life enrichment programming and provide meaningful activities to residents.
• Document resident care in a timely and accurate manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and procedures, including updates.
