About The Position

We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and skilled Certified Nursing Assistants to provide quality resident care at skilled nursing facilities in Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania. The CNA supports residents with daily living activities, promotes comfort and dignity, assists with mobility, and helps maintain a safe and clean care environment. CNAs work alongside licensed nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide attentive, respectful, and consistent care. This role suits a CNA with hands-on care skills, effective communication, and the ability to adapt to a skilled nursing or long-term care environment.

This is a PRN position with shifts offered according to facility staffing needs and confirmed availability; a set number of hours or shifts is not guaranteed. The scheduled day shift is 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break. The work takes place in a busy skilled nursing environment and involves hands-on resident care, competing priorities, and maintaining professional standards throughout the shift.

Requirements

• Current, verifiable CNA certification and eligibility to work as a nursing assistant in South Carolina.
• Ability to provide safe, hands-on resident care within the CNA scope of practice.
• Ability to work the scheduled 6:00 AM–2:00 PM shift and reliably travel to the assigned facility.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills.
• Understanding of resident rights, dignity, confidentiality, infection control, and fall prevention.
• Ability to follow care plans, recognize changes in resident condition, and promptly notify licensed nursing staff.
• Willingness to complete required onboarding, competency assessments, and applicable background and employment checks.
• Ability to meet the essential functions of the position, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
• Flexibility, reliable attendance, and commitment to shifts accepted.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility, nursing home, rehabilitation center, or long-term care setting.
• Experience caring for residents with dementia, limited mobility, incontinence, or increased fall risk.
• Familiarity with safe transfers, repositioning, gait belts, and mechanical lifts following appropriate training.
• Experience obtaining vital signs and documenting resident care.
• Familiarity with electronic health records or electronic care documentation.
• Availability for additional PRN shifts, including weekends, when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, toileting, and other activities of daily living.
• Assist residents with safe transfers, repositioning, ambulation, and mobility using approved techniques and equipment.
• Assist with meals and hydration according to individual care plans and dietary or swallowing precautions.
• Obtain and document vital signs and other observations as assigned and authorized.
• Monitor residents for changes in physical condition, behavior, appetite, mobility, or alertness and promptly report concerns to the nurse.
• Respond to call lights and resident needs in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Follow individualized care plans, infection prevention procedures, fall prevention protocols, and facility safety policies.
• Maintain resident privacy, dignity, comfort, and confidentiality.
• Keep resident areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Accurately document care provided and communicate important information during shift handoffs.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, fellow CNAs, and other members of the care team.
• Report suspected abuse, neglect, injuries, and safety concerns through appropriate channels.
